It's personal...

Our experience of living with and fighting PD has taught us how to best approach this complex disease. Everyone we meet and work with faces different symptoms and unique challenges that require individualized attention. PD is a complex disease, and to fight PD effectively requires a comprehensive program, delivered in a straight-forward manner. Most people with PD are not neurologists, physical therapists, or nutritionists, and unfortunately, most of us simply cannot receive the level of guidance we need from these resources, which is a gap we aim to fill.

At Parkinson’s on the Move, our focus is on YOU from the moment you call us for help. To us, your PD is personal. Therefore we must work together to set up a plan based exclusively on your unique condition. We focus on progress while trying to slow down PD’s progression. We zero in on your particular set of challenges to give you the best chance to reclaim your lost or compromised abilities. We get results by understanding movement complexities and work with you to rebuild and reinforce neural pathways to improve your gait, balance and stability. We give you strength to fight PD and live with it on your terms. We do all that for you, because we had to do it for ourselves.

Our website is FREE for you to use and enjoy. It is filled with workouts, exercises, recipes and much more. But for the best and quickest results, our advice is for you to call us and work with us one-on-one so we can address your unique set of symptoms and get to work on helping you live a much more normal and fulfilling life. Options for personalized help are available here, and you can see what a personalized plan may look like here.

I discovered PDontheMove.com on the internet and I knew immediately it was what I had been looking for since my PD diagnosis in May 2006.  Taking care of oneself, juggling an already complex life, and then taking on the challenge of a condition that is so baffling and time demanding, requires efficiency.  The foundation of one’s life with PD are prescribed medications, diet, and exercise.  Modern technology has put in our hands the perfect tools for efficiently fighting PD,  and PDontheMove.com is the perfect website to support this.  They have exercise videos which cover every condition one might be facing, they are all skillfully taught and beautifully executed, and Alexander & Alexis are available for face-to-face consultation on FaceTime.  Their Dietary suggestions have inspired me to make some long overdue changes, which I wasn’t able to do on my own.  Their menus are simple, easy to prepare, delicious, and teach one how to navigate our food choices by developing an understanding of the body’s wisdom.  I was on FaceTime with Alexander and he noticed my dyskenisia, he suggested I put a ball between my legs and squeeze, which I did and my dyskenisia stopped instantly.  There is much wisdom about the body in the world of Ballet.  I highly recommend PDontheMove.com

The exercises are easy to understand and not too difficult and generate the power of responsibility for your own body.

The first time I met you, I was very impressed with your professionalism along with your very friendly and engaging personality, what was of great help in motivating us to perform the stretching, aerobic, and balance exercises. Your ability to lend touches of humor made our exercises more fun than work. You were a very patient instructor and gave individual attention when needed. You related some of your personal experiences with Parkinson's Disease and stressed to us the importance of daily exercise to slow down the disease, along with other advice for healthy living. I enjoyed each class enormously and eagerly looked forward the next class.

I am sixty years old, have had PD for about five years.  I have a slightly different twist as I was a songwriter and musician until the disease made the ability to play guitar difficult.  You may be the first speaker to hit a chord with me and my situation.  My girlfriend and I have watched your videos several times and they have provided the motivation for me to turn the page and truly fight this "pain in the ass" every day.  I recently bought a guitar and will learn to play again. Thank you for the inspiration.

I've been attending PD conferences for 11 years and his presentation was one of the best (if not the best) I've ever seen.  He has a really important message of self-care and a great personal testimony.  He delivers it with humor but his humor doesn't minimize the importance personal responsibility.
